Out on a San Francisco limb.
December 7, 2009
Tomorrow, I am headed back to a city that I would dearly love to again call home. San Francisco. This is very much a leap of faith. I don’t have a full time job waiting for me, and while I do have some interviews this week, I have not booked a return ticket. With very very little money to my name, I am daring to hope that something sticks.
But more than that, I hope I land somewhere that I can immediately begin to make a difference, have fun with colleagues, and enjoy every single thing I do. While I don’t have much of it, money is not nearly as important as all of that. I want to be depended on and counted upon, and if I achieve that, I know I will bang out the best work possible. Work I can’t wait to do.
This song somehow found its way into my library, and is my new favorite. Save Me San Francisco by Train. The lyrics are spot on, and reference a lot of my favorite places and things about the city. Then there is always the “save me” part. So San Francisco, this Texan is really counting on you. Pull through for me will ya?
The video is nothing more than the lyrics set to the song, but if you’ve ever spent a good amount of time in my city by the bay, give it a listen.

I saw something about this subject on TV last night. Good article.
